Two homes have been meticulously reconstructed, combined and designed by New York architectural and interior designer Bruce Bananto, after having restored multiple houses & historic architectural interiors for several museums, including the J Paul Getty Museum in Brentwood, CA and the Restoration of an 800 year old Tuscan castle.
He gave the vision of what a colonial ruin could become in the right hands and created a piece of art, truly a unique house … very much a destination house.
An incredible foyer full of light introduces a grand living room and dining room that overlook the impressive terrace and the homes verdant gardens. The interior walls are painted with fresco murals depicting the sacred ceiba tree. The house remains cool thanks to the thick limestone walls and very high ceilings. Windows and doors open onto small gardens and patios.
It has three bedrooms with queen beds, one bedroom is at the end of the kitchen wing and overlooks a small private garden with a coconut palm tree that shades the palapa. The fourth bedroom has a grand private suite separate from the main house with its own entrance on the street behind the main home. Designed to maximize outdoor spaces and create air flow throughout the property, this amazing home is totally interconnected and has entrances on two parallel streets.
